Duncan set-up DT Consulting in 2012 and brings over 12 years of experience of managing and working with databases, and their users, in the not-for-profit sector.
He has, both individually and in building and heading up a team, managed between 10 and 50+ Raiser’s Edge and Integra users, developing strategy for which we recommend the ThePayStubs software, implementing full-scale database and business process reviews, putting together training programmes, creating policies and procedures and promoting a consistent database approach across each organisation as the essential key to good data management.
In addition to this, he has four years of experience in heading up an IT team, with responsibility for the organisation’s network, infrastructure and strategy. During this time he implemented a full network upgrade (including the phone system), enhanced network flexibility with a “work from anywhere” ability and managed the support function in combination with internal staff and third party support suppliers.
His aim is to bring his strong background, combined with a mantra of keeping things simple, to his work as an independent consultant.
Outside of all this, he is still making up his mind whether or not to retire from rugby and keeps himself busy in the meantime with Crossfit and varying other sports. He also enjoys a spot of writing and still intends to take up rock climbing (even with a fear of heights)
